INTEGRATE fosters cooperation for industrial transition towards Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) in the Atlantic Area

Agrocampus Ouest / CEVA (and others French institutes) organise the 15/16th of May in Rennes, professionnal conference on IMTA.

Integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) is emerging as an eco-innovative solution for the sustainable development of aquaculture. It is an integral part of the blue growth strategy of the European Union. Although the concept is not recent, it tends to develop in recent years in seawater and freshwater. Several projects are underway to study IMTA in Europe, including IMTA-Effect (European project Eranet Cofasp led by INRA), Integrate (Interreg Arc Atlantique project in which Agrocampus Ouest and CEVA are partners) or scale National Epurval 2 (of which Itavi and CIPA are coordinators).

On the basis of these projects, Agrocampus Ouest, CEVA, INRA, Itavi, Cipa and Pôle mer invite you to Rennes on the 15th and 16th of May 2019 for the theme of integrated multitrophic aquaculture. These days will be an opportunity for meetings, exchanges and discussions between the various actors in the aquaculture sector (researchers, professionals, technical centers, communities …).

These days will address the following questions: What is AMTI? Where are we today? What are the constraints to its development? What are the impacts of this mode of aquaculture? What are his prospects? These exchanges will be organized around 3 thematic sessions involving our European partners, researchers, technical centers, professionals … The participants will be invited to exchange during several workshops that will allow us to work together on specific points (perception, action plan, regulation …).
